Science for All: Bridging Gaps in STEM Education

Focus: Explore strategies to dismantle barriers to STEM education access, ensuring all learners have the tools and opportunities to thrive. Highlight effective pedagogy, curricula adapted for all learners, and the role of educators in promoting a scientifically literate society.



Pre-Conference Field Trip Information

Field Trip #1: Griffin Museum of Science & Industry (January 14th 10AM-3PM CST)

Explore immersive exhibits to learn about transportation, space exploration, and beyond. Enjoy a hands-on make-and-take activity with the Wanger Family Fab Lab, and enjoy lunch with the Education team. There will be time for free exploration of the museum after lunch. Cost $30, which includes lunch, make and take activity, free admission to the museum, and transportation. (Transportation is included for 50 registrants; additional registrants will need to provide their own transportation)

Field Trip #2: The Art Institute of Chicago (January 14th, 12PM-3PM CST)

You will be welcomed to The Patrick G. and Shirley W. Ryan Learning Center the Art Institute of Chicago’s hub for culturally responsive experiences that bring young people and the adults around them into dynamic and inspiring encounters with art. There you will preview and receive the museum’s many resources for K-12 teachers and students including artwork posters and the museum’s Art + Science videos and curriculum, which highlights the work of technicians and scientists who work in the museum’s conservation labs. You will then be given free admission to explore the museum’s galleries on their own.  Cost $10, which includes free admission to the museum. The Art Institute is a short 15-minute walk from the conference hotel or an even quicker Uber ride with your friends. Transportation is not included. (Available to First 25 registrants)
