ASTE Mission Statement

The Association for Science Teacher Education (ASTE) provides leadership and support for professionals involved in the education and development of teachers of science at all levels. ASTE promotes scholarship, collaboration, and innovation in science teacher education, and seeks to advance policy and practice that contributes to more just and equitable outcomes for teachers of science.


ASTE Code of Ethics & Professional Conduct

ASTE is committed to promoting a culture of respect, fairness, and inclusivity for Science Teacher Education. All people deserve to pursue their professional activities with dignity and in a safe, supportive, respectful, inclusive, and welcoming environment that encourages diverse points of view and backgrounds in order to engage in open and honest communication.

In 2021, the ASTE Board of Directors unanimously supported the creation of the ASTE Code of Ethics and Professional Conduct


History of ASTE
